Last week I posted my first alternative conditioning workout. As I wrote in that post, these workouts are designed to be a change from the traditional machine based 'cardio' workout people may do at the gym.
In the past, on days between lifting workouts, I would gravitate towards a stairmaster or treadmill and do an interval workout. It was challenging, but after doing it it enough times, it gets boring. During warmer months, it is easy to train outside, but during the colder months I find myself training indoors more often, so these alternative conditioning workouts are a nice change. And they are quick and intense.
Here is one I did today.
1. Dynamic warm-up for 5 minutes
Perform the following exercises continuously for six rounds. Take breaks when necessary.
2a. Kettlebell Swing (20 reps)
2b. Push-ups (10)
2c. Speed Squats (20)
