Sandbag Squats

Today post is about making the body-weight squat a little more challenging. Say hello to the sandbag squat. Also refer to the previous two posts about changes you can make to other traditional body-exercises : Weighted Push-ups and Jumping Pull-ups.

Reasons why the sandbag squat is excellent to do:
  1. It forces you to keep your upper body straight because you need to keep your arms up to support the sandbag.
  2. The uneven distribution of weight in the sandbag makes you focus on keeping your abdominals contracted throughout the entire movement.
  3. Many people I train find working with a sandbag is much more comfortable that doing squats with a barbell or dumbbells.
