Why do you exercise? I thought it would be an interesting question to ask.
It dawned on me this weekend while reading Male Pattern Fitness. I don't know if you are familiar with MPF, but it is geared towards training geeks like myself. As I was scrolling over posts about heart rates, recovery, instability training, flexibility, and protein intake, I thought to myself - "most people are not this into their fitness and would probably find this stuff extremely boring".
You see, my entire life has centered around fitness. I have been more less a training addict since I was 13. I love talking about it, reading about it, attending seminars about it, and most importantly - doing it.
Why do I exercise? Simple, it keeps me balanced. I sleep better, I think clearer, and it keeps me in a good mood. I am an endorphin junkie.
How about you? Why do you exercise?
Are you passionate about it and love to do it?
Do you do it because your doctor told you to?
Do you do it because you know it is good for you, although you don't really enjoy it?
It is an important question to ask, because to make fitness a habit for life you need to enjoy it. Because if you don't enjoy it, then how long do you think you can actually keep making yourself do it?
Why do you exercise?
Tell me what you think.
