Do the Snatch Balance

The snatch balance is another one of those exercises that I wish I discovered when I first began training.

It is a superb full body exercise that improves coordination, mobility, and linking the upper and lower body.



If you want a great core strengthening exercise then try this one out.

When first beginning use a dowel.

Progress to a barbell and only increase weight when your form is sound.

Aim to do 3-4 sets of 5 reps when using a barbell or more weight.

If you are just using a dowel you can increase your reps (8-12) as you are just working on technique.

If you have limited range of motion in your shoulders then definitely try this exercise.

Just make sure to begin with just a dowel and do not add weight until you feel comfortable.

If you just feel too tight to do this exercise, then begin by practicing a snatch squat.

Progress to the balance once you have mastered the squat.
